Statement:
Placing the prosthesis:
- Apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the inside margin of the prosthesis.
- Gently slide the prosthesis into position on the residual stump - ensure that it is in the correct alignment.
- Gently pull on the prosthesis in a forward motion to create a passive vacuum.
- DO NOT pull on the fine edges – they will tear!!!
Removing the prosthesis:
- Gently squeeze the prosthesis to break the vacuum.
- Pull forward gently rotating the prosthesis until it is removed from the residual stump.
- Under no circumstance pull or grip the thin terminal margins of the prosthesis, as they will tear.
Cleaning the prosthesis:
- The prosthesis should be washed gently in a solution of hand hot water and liquid soap (i.e. hand soap or hair shampoo.)
- Ensure all traces of Vaseline are removed.
- Pat dry with a tissue.
- Try not to rub the surface of the prosthesis excessively.
- Clean the skin in the normal manner.
Storing:
- Store your prosthesis in a box so that the thin edges are not distorted, or under undue pressure.
Statement:
- The prosthesis is only designed for: cosmetic, light grip or keyboard use. It is not designed for manual work or washing dishes etc.
- Should you experience any problem with either your prosthesis or your skin, please contact me and discontinue use immediately.
