Handmade in New England with love by Emily Boyd Longcope
I graduated with honors from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2008. Inspired by the vessel through which we walk through life, I study the human body in these hyper-realistic, silicone sculptures and life castings. The works have evolved over the years from display pieces to wearable prosthetics. Creating prosthetics for those with amputation is by far the most fulfilling work that I have ever done.
I take pride in the work that I do and I truly want to not only please my customer, but exceed their expectations. It gives me great satisfaction to make functional art that serves a purpose and is useful to someone other than myself.
From Brooklyn to Rural Massachusetts
I never imagined how impactful it would be to move out of the big city to a place of peace and quiet. It has done wonders for my creative mind and family life.
